Leo Eaton is a British-born independent film-maker who’s been writing, producing, directing and executive producing TV factual series and specials for US and overseas broadcasters for more than 30 years. He has run Eaton Creative, Inc (previously the US production base of Café Productions) since 1997. Between 1989 & 1994 he was Senior VP of National/International Production at Maryland Public Television. Recent work includes series producer of the 12-hour PBS series America at a Crossroads; producer/director for PBS performance specials Natalie MacMasters, Home to Cape Breton and Tango, the Spirit of Argentina and Series Producer of the 13-part docu-reality series Cowboy 101 for the Outdoor Life Network (OLN). Previously Eaton executive produced 26 hours of Be the Creature (with the Kratt Brothers) series for the National Geographic as well as British historian Michael Wood’s In Search of Myths & Heroes for PBS and the BBC. Previously he was executive producer on Michael Wood’s BBC/PBS series The Life & Times of William Shakespeare and series producer/director for In Search of Ancient Ireland for PBS & RTE (Ireland). His book In Search of Ancient Ireland —co-written with historian Carmel McCaffrey—was published in 2003.
Other work includes the 75-minute music special Mariachi, the Spirit of Mexico—hosted by Plácido Domingo—and Michael Wood’s In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great and Conquistadors for PBS & BBC-TV, as well as Emmy award-winning Kratt Brothers kid’s wildlife series Zoboomafoo and the previous Kratts’ Creatures for PBS. Eaton hass produced and directed seven hours of Investigative Reports specials for A&E, as well as being responsible for TV specials produced for Discovery, TBS, ITV (UK) & ABC-TV (Australia).
Eaton began his career in episodic TV drama in the UK, working as assistant director on series like The Saint, The Baron and The Avengers. He was given his first chance to both write and direct by cult producer Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds) on later series Captain Scarlet & The Mysterons, Joe 90, The Secret Service and UFO. Eaton has taught film production & scriptwriting at the University of Texas (Austin) and still conducts occasional workshops in television production and international co-production around the US. Prior to settling in America, Eaton lived for several years in Greece, Portugal and Mexico. With a special focus on co-production, Eaton has developed more than twenty successful partnerships with broadcasters from around the world, especially in Europe & S.E. Asia.
Wendy Wolf, Production Manager

Wendy Wolf has worked as Leo Eaton’s production manager
for the past twelve years, administering and managing all of
Eaton Creative programs since the formation of the company.
Prior to entering the television industry, Wendy worked in banking
and at the FBI, experiences which have served her well when setting
up locations around the world and managing the complexities of
international co-productions and multi-national crews. Respected by broadcasters
and crews alike on both sides of the Atlantic for her tough fiscal
discipline, extensive production knowledge and commitment to
bringing in projects ‘on time and on budget’ (one experienced UK producer
even asked ‘if he could have a Wendy of his own when he grew up’), Wendy
Wolf is responsible for Eaton Creative’s business activities.
Jeri Eaton, Vice President
Jeri Eaton is a freelance writer. Previously a reporter for the Carroll County
Times, a regional daily paper in central Maryland, Jeri earlier worked
as producer and videographer for the nationally syndicated daily series
PM Magazine, after serving her time as videographer in the newsroom of
KSAT (San Antonio, TX). Married to Leo Eaton for more than thirty years,
she has worked with her husband on many projects and currently serves
as VP & Treasurer for Eaton Creative, Inc.
